WordPress 2.9 Features

I’ve watched WordPress grow over the years and it’s always getting better and better. Each major WordPress update isn’t just a small one, the development team add a host of new features as well as fixes/tweaks. We are currently at version 2.8.6 as of writing this post and version 2.9 is on it’s way.

Here’s the lowdown on what I think are the best features:-

• Image editing
• Comment metadata
• Trash status for posts, pages, comments and attachments (includes restore and permanent delete)
• Add support for ‘include’ and ‘exclude’ to the gallery tag

What many people want are custom post types as they think WordPress isn’t a ‘real’ CMS. It is believed that custom post types MIGHT not make 2.9, but 3.0 looks likely.
