Fifa 08 is probably the best Fifa yet, i think EA Sports have pulled their finger out and produced something that football fans want. Far better than Pro Evo this year. I’ll be writing a review on Fifa 08 soon.
Anyway, the aim of this blog post is to say that i’ve won around £45 (roughly $90) playing Fifa 08 with my work colleagues.
How have you won money?
Quite simple. At work we set up a small league, there are 4 of us altogether, everyone puts money in the pot, each of us play each other twice and see who wins the league. After each league we then play a cup tournament with 2 legs, and who ever wins the cup doesn’t have to give their money to the winner of the league.
League 1
The first league was set up like this:
Barcelona finished top, but only won on goal difference, while Manchester United in 2nd, 1 goal behind. AC Milan finished 3rd, and disgracefully, Arsenal finished last, not evening winning a game, let alone didn’t even score a goal!
Barcelona went on to win the cup beating AC Milan in the final.
£10 was in the pot from each of us and i took the lot.
League 2
The second league was set up like this:
Again, Barcelona finished top, leading by 3 points this time. Manchester United finished in second, AC Milan in 3rd and lastly, the man that never scored a goal in the first league. He did however, score this time around, but didn’t win a game still!
Barcelona won the cup again, beating Real Madrid in the final (yes colleague 3 actually won some games in the cup)
I took the pot again, but it was only £5 from each of us. (I wonder why?)
League 3
League 3 is under way and there is £5 in the pot. We are using international teams which looks like this:
The first match up was Italy vs Brazil and Italy went on to thrashing Brazil 4-0.
Will i ever be defeated? Or will i become the undisputed champion.
it’s not bad to win money from something your good at, i’ve basically won the cost of the game back, not bad eh.

hi david surely there is a gap in the market for a website to enable big competitions playing fifa(and other games) with that added spice of winning a little(or a lot)of money. The site could be operated the same way as poker sites.if your looking for a partner (ha) don’t hesistate to ask.I have recently been made redundant.
