Test your website/web design in different browsers online
Want to test your website/web design in different browsers without needing to download the specific browsers? Well now you can with Browsershots.org.
I Stumbledupon this rather cool website and tested it for this blog. The results came out pretty positive, working in most major browsers including I.E, Firefox, Safari and Flock.
Which Browsers?
Browsershots.org can test your website in almost every single browser our there, even with different versions of the browser. Here is a list of the majority of them:
- Firefox 1.5
- Flock 1.0
- Galeon 2.0
- Konqueror 3.5
- Mozilla 1.7
- Opera 9.50
- SeaMonkey 2.0
- Firefox 2.0
- Firefox 3.0
- MSIE 5.0
- MSIE 6.0
- MSIE 7.0
- Safari 3.0
Operating System?
You can even specify which operating system to test your website in, including Linux, Windows and Mac OS so you can see exactly which operating systems are displaying your site correct/incorrect.
Any other options?
Browsershots.org is packed with alot of options. You can specify which screen resolution you wish your website to be displayed in, the colour depth, javascript enabled/disabled, flash enabled/disabled and more.
Any Downsides?
There are some downsides with using this service such as a queueing system. You could be sat for 25 minutes before you start seeing screenshots of your site. Whilst you only get 30 minutes per go and if you are sat in the que for 25 minutes, the system has 5 minutes to grab the screenshots. You can extend the time to another 30 minutes which is useful but it means you have to keep refreshing the page to see if any screenshots have started, if you forget to refresh and extend the service, you need to start over.
I would highly recommend this website to any web designer who wants to quickly check their design in different browsers to see if it’s compatible.
