1000 visitors yesterday for talkplaystation

I posted yesterday about my YouTube success and how i hoped it bring in lots of visitors for talkplaystation.com. The YouTube video i posted was of Resident Evil 5, many people are waiting for this game, and no one has really seen in-game footage yet. I found out that Famitsu was going to release a video interview of the developers of RE5, which promised to contain in-game footage.

The video leaked and i found it on GameVideos.com. I quickly went over to YouTube to see if it had been uploaded there. To my surpise it hadn’t yet. So i quickly downloaded the video and uploaded it to YouTube.

For talkplaystation.com yesterday it bought in:-

980 visitors (965 uniques)
1253 page views
7 new e-mail subscribers (unsure about RSS you can never tell)

This is good news for me, but will it carry on? Probably not, but at least i made a good first impression or some buzz about my site.

I submitted my entry to digg.com, but it didn’t get as far as i hoped. It only has 4 diggs up to now.

Anyway, while things start to cool down, i better get back to the drawing board to create some more buzz.

Popular URLS provides popular headlines in one place

This is a website worth visiting if you want all the popular news and headlines in one location. Popurls.com is a great website that gathers up-to-the-minute web buzz and headlines from the most popular websites on the internet.

As you can see it’s nicely layed out and provides popular news from websites such as digg, newsvine.com, google news and yahoo news. Some websites i’ve never even heard of but that’s not to drive you away from Popurls.com. Not only does it show you the latest headlines, it can also show the most popular videos from YouTube and other video sites. The same goes for images from flickr etc.

Popurls.com has some very nice features packed in, and this is probably the best one – when you rollover a headline, it shows excerpts of the content like so:

There is a nice tool bar that works very well. You can switch background colour, make the fonts bigger, hide today’s popular headlines and more.

A nice idea and it’s the first website i’ve seen do this, i felt i had to post about it to let you guys and gals visit and see what you think of it.

This is the first ever eBook i’ve bought. I’ve been a regular reader of smemon’s blog ever since early last year and i’ve watched the blog grow and grow.

Who is Smemon?

Smemon is an Irish internet entrepreneur who wants to make a living online. He gave up his day job in May 2007 to work on the internet in the hopeful moment to earn money online.

He has already started to make some money online as you can see from his blogs monthly income, they aren’t huge incomes but they will do for now.

In the past he has released a free eBook before called ‘Guide to WordPress’ which takes you on a step by step journey to setting up your very own blog using WordPress. This is very useful if you haven’t a clue what to do.

His latest eBook ’40 way to make money’ is gaining him reputation and of course money, so i’m looking forwards to seeing his February income report. Smemon has sold a number of sites in the past, January/February being the best month for him so far. Theres a thread on the digital point forums about the eBook, he’s selling it there for $9 so go get it quick before that price goes up!

Once i’ve read the eBook i’ll be reviewing it here, so stay tuned!
