Today i recieved my first ever credit card. I always said to myself that i would never ever need or get a credit card. But to be honest, i’m sick dipping into my savings when ever something goes wrong with my car or if i have to buy something big. I’m not going to get into debt, i can manage my money very well. Basically whenever something goes wrong with my car etc i can pay it off with my credit card and then i’ve got until the next bill date to save up and pay off without having the need to dip into my savings.
I was surprised that my credit limit is £1,200, my friends applied for the same credit card and only got £200-£500. Anyway, i have 0% interest for 9 months, i may buy a few things here and there with it but i’m not going to go over the top.
I use a credit card for everything I buy, but always pay it off at the end of the month in full. I have never paid interest and the credit card I use I get %2 cashback on, so for every £100 I spend, they give me £2.
They of course offer this hoping you will get into debt, as the interest will more than make up for it, but if your frugal then there is money to be made here.
Yeah i use my credit card all the time.. i also have a debit card, but it’s nice to dump things on to the credit card for a few weeks and not have to worry about your savings going down.
if you manage you finances well, you’ll have no problems, and a credit card will just make life easier for you, saving yout time and hassle.
i too have never paid a cent in interest – i must look in to a cashback though, as i do buy quite a bit with it, probably €5k a year and a 2% cashback would mean i could get €100 back
If I where you I’d get yourself an Xbox360. you deserve it.
