The UK’s biggest Earthquake for 25 years hit last night just before 1.am. I was sleeping at my girlfriends house which is in Blackpool and at approximately 1.am we both woke up, we didn’t even know why we woke up. Anyway we was just laying there and we both could feel the bed rocking slightly and my girlfriend told me to stop rocking the bed, and i said i’m not doing anything at all. I thought it was the draft because we had the windows open.
I got to work this morning and my work colleagues asked me if i felt the earthquake, and i was like, what earthquake? Then it clicked, i remembered the bed rocking, and that was the reason why me and my girlfriend woke up.
It wasn’t much, but it was something to witness – the earth moving.
The biggest Earthquake to rock the UK for 25 years
The 5.3 earthquake rocked Lincolnshire, near Market Rasen. Many parts of the UK felt the quake according to BBC News. There weren’t any major injuries but a man suffered leg wounds when a chimney collapsed into his bedroom. The quake lasted for around 10 seconds.
