What did I do? Because I’m so in love with Apple’s device I decided to order an iPhone 3GS 16GB, I might as well of ordered the top model (even though there is a 32GB) and it came costly because I’m on pay as you go. Not only that but I also got insurance for the phone because I didn’t want to face what I faced over Xmas.

I’m rather impressed with the 3GS, the camera has been upgraded and has recording capabilities. After recording a video you have a number of options including; emailing, MMS or even posting it to Facebook.

I’ve also noticed that the 3GS is not sluggish in anyway. I remember loading SMS, selecting my contact and as soon as I start to type a message it would be sluggish and delayed. 3GS doesn’t have this problem, it handles every app with ease.

Other than that, both models are pretty much the same and in mu opinion, it’s not worth upgrading to the 3GS if you have the 3G, I only did because I had the opportunity.

It all started off on Xmas eve when I went out on a night out in town, great night but to my shock horror I had lost my iPhone! I was like noooooooooooo. It’s the first gadget I’ve ever lost ever! £400 down the drain and I have to buy a new one now as I didn’t have the phone insured. I lost it as I got out of the taxi because I remember texting, it must of slipped out of my pocket.

Anyway, this is just an excuse to get the iPhone 3GS. For those that don’t know, here are the differences between the 3G and the 3GS.

Apart from that, I’ve had a good weekend/week so far.

I’m looking forwards to 2010, new year, new beginning and I have alot of stuff already planned.

I’ve done all my Christmas shopping for this year and it wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I usually go out and buy all the presents but this time i’ve done it ALL online, did I save money? Hell yes!

If you’ve read this blog from the beginning you’ll learn that I like to use online cashback service, Quidco. Quidco is an excellent online cashback service that pays out pretty quick depending on where you buy your stuff from. Up to now I’ve had around £150 worth of cashback from buying online. It’s great for buying Christmas presents, birthday presents etc and you get a little in return for doing so.

And to finish the weekend off before work tomorrow, i’m going to play some Modern Warfare 2 and Fifa 10.

The hard part is thinking of what to make, it could be something that’s already done. Afterall, this is just to teach myself new things and obviously gain more experience with PHP coding.

I’ve drafted up a few ideas such as a video hosting website for a certain game, like LittleBigPlanet where users can post videos of levels they make. I’m not expecting something big to happen, it is purely a test as I haven’t really had the opportunity to create any projects for myself in the past because of time constraints.

I’ve thought about creating a Content Management System and implementing the small applications i’ve written, the multi image uploader would be fantastic for a site with galleries. Anyway, we’ll see.

So why do I have spare time in the next 6 weeks? My girlfriend goes to Australia (tonight) as she has family over there and is spending Xmas with them.

Over the next few days I’m going to start the projects and I’ll post here as to where I’m up to.

The latest games I have are:-

• Dirt 2
• Modern Warfare 2
• FIFA 10

I’ve obviously been playing those recently, trying to get the most out of them before I get the games I want for Xmas. The games I want for Xmas are:-

• The Saboteur
• Assassin’s Creed 2
• Operation Flashpoint 2

Now I know these aren’t exactly big hitters apart from maybe Assassin’s Creed 2 but that’s ok because at the beginning of 2010 there are some massive hitters being released exclusively for the PS3 and this is where the PS3 can flex it’s muscles once again. Afterall, they did it with Killzone 3 when that was released February 27th 2009.

The big hitters are:-

• Gran Turismo 5 – March 2010
• God of War III – March 2010
• Massive Action Game – January 2010

Looks like i’m going to have to spread them out as I don’t really like having too many games on at once, you start neglecting the older games. I’ll have to wait and see.

I arrived at the store and the lady behind the counter said they had replaced it with a brand new one! I was overwhelmed by this. A brand new iPhone!

O2 have certainly made up for not giving me loan phone, excellent service afterall.

The problem i had with my older iPhone was the WiFi wouldn’t work, well i can tell you now that the new iPhone came with firmware version 3.1.2 pre-installed and the WiFi works flawlessly. Excellent.

I can now carry on socialising after a week with no contact. If you’re iPhone’s WiFi doesn’t work, send it in if it’s under warrenty, you could get a brand new one back.

I’ve got a new theme, new aim, new beginning. I’m going to change the content of this blog over the next few weeks, by that, i mean i’ll be talking just about anything that springs to mind.

I’ll be talking about how my web development is going, my projects and just ramblings about something you’ll probably don’t want to hear.

Talk Playstation is still going strong although i don’t have much involvment with it and haven’t for quite a while. I want to take that to the next level. I did fire up a new theme with the help of a friend (Ves) so at least i didn’t neglect it completely.

Anyway, the question you are all asking is why have i been neglecting my blogs? Simple answer. I’ve been spending most of my spare time bettering myself, learning new things especially in the web development world. I’m a keen user of the kickass PHP framework, Codeigniter.

I’ve developed a few applications using Codeigniter, some i’ll use, some i won’t and were just simply experiments. The one thing i developed that i’m most impressed with is a multi image uploader that automatically resizes and crops on the fly and stores the info into a database ready for use on a website.

As i’m writing this post i’m still using Wordpress version 2.5.1, what are we on now? 2.8.5? I think it’s time to upgrade and i’ll probably have to upgrade the plugins too. There are more than 2000 spam comments which i’ll just clear as i’m starting fresh.

It is bad neglecting a blog and i’ve done this before, never again.

I will most likely not be blogging over the next few days but i’ll try and get my best iPhone apps in as well as the worst things about the phone.

I was looking at iPhones since early last year and a few of my work colleagues had them and thought they were brilliant so i immediately went out and bought myself one just before Christmas.

The iPhone isn’t perfect, in fact, there is quite alot of things that are wrong with this phone, in the next few days i will list my top 10 iPhone Apps as well as my worst nightmares with it.

I was going to opt for the contract but i’ve always said to myself that i will never ever get a phone contract. A contract on an iPhone is around £35 on O2 for 18 months! Instead, i bought the 16GB model for £400, quite alot of money for a phone if you ask me. I’m sure it will last me a good few years.

The other alternative to the iPhone is the Google Android, which T-Mobile have for now. I didn’t really fancy the Android and went with iPhone.

Bear with me while i work out which Apps are the best, stay tuned!

First of all my girlfriend became pregnant, we agreed to keep it. 6 weeks in she had a misscarriage that left my girlfriend devastated. I had to spend all my time with her.

I’ve been busy spending less time gaming and more time being productive, I’ve been learning php in my own time, it’s an area I currently lack, rest assured I’m getting better and better at it!

I got myself a new iPhone two weeks ago, I’m loving it very much, in fact I’m writing this post on the iPhone! I was going to get it on contract but the thing that put me off was the lengthy contract, 18 months! I got the phone on pay as you go, £400 it cost with free Internet which I think isn’t bad.

My car, yes the shitty saxo I have is in good working order after the recent problems it’s had with it, I have been looking at a new car, just want to wait a little longer.

The last two months have been busy in terms of birthdays etc so I’ve been going out quite alot. I went to see scouting for girls in Manchester a few weeks ago, they are pretty good live, would deffinately see them again.

So where do I go from here? Im going to put a bit more time into this blog, sorry for leaving you for so long!

This Monday I’m going to see the kooks at the Blackpool winter gardens with a few friends. Not really keen on them but we’ll see how it goes.

Next week it’s my girlfriend university ball, we are staying in the lakes, she goes to the university of Cumbria. The week after we are staying in a hotel in Penrith, should be nude and romantic, a break just before Xmas.

This post us just a simple one, I will spend more time on this blog and post more often.

In the next few months i’m going to be looking into getting a whole new machine, possibly high end gaming mammoth as the one i have is kinda getting slow and can’t run the latest games. I do have a Playstation 3 for my gaming needs, i got FIFA 09 today and it’s a kickass game.

I just prefer playing first person shooters on the PC using the mous/keyboard combination. For any other games such as sports and adventure i’d just get for the PS3 as it’s easier to control etc.

I get my car back tomorrow and i dont dare wait to pay the bill.

My Car

Anyway, my Saxo is back in the garage with something wrong with the rear axle. I was coming home from work one day and i heard this scrubbing sound coming from the rear wheels. Got home and i inspected the wheels at the back and found out they were bent inwards scrubbing against the inner arch.

The cost? £370 for a new axle and thats without fitting! Along with this i’m getting new rear brake disc’s and pads so what will the bill be? I’d say in excess of £500. I’m going to use this excuse to drive this car a little longer and then i think i will get rid and get that Fiesta ST i’ve been looking for.

It wasn’t that long ago when the head gasket went and that cost around £300 to get sorted. Before that the front brakes needed renewing. I guess it’s that time when everything fails on your car.

I’m setting myself a promise now, if anything else goes wrong i’m going to get a new car. End of.

Did i have a good time in Zante? Yes! I loved it. I would definitely go back again without a shadow of a doubt.

I will maybe post some pictures and what not in a few days i just need to get my bearings back to normal.

I’ve been to plenty of places in Greece before but never been to Zante so it’s my first time there. Best of all though is that it’s my girlfriends first time abroad so it will be something special for her. She has never been on a plane or anything like that, she is really excited just as much as i am.

So, i go on the 4th and come back on the 12th so this blog will be inactive for just over a week. I will get plenty of pictures to share with you and let you know how the holiday was.

We made it to the Lakes and got to the start of the mountain, the weather was… OK’ish at the start but when we started going up we realised it was a very bad idea to do this. The weather turned on us and started pouring down with rain, we couldn’t see any view at all. It was like we was in one big cloud – we probably was in a cloud.

I couldn’t take any pictures because my digital camera isn’t waterproof and didn’t want to risk breaking it. I’d say we got about 3/4 of the way up until people were coming down saying not to go up, it’s too dangerous. We ignored the first people that said this and carried on going up. Another couple was on their way down and warned us that is was probably 80mph wind at the top and the rain was not coming down but going horizontal.

At that point we started to make our way and went home. It was a good experience, it got very windy when we were high up. I made good use of waterproof clothing

Anyway, other than that i’ve not been up to much apart from working and enjoying myself.
