Manchester derby day
The Munich air accident took place 50 years ago, 6th Feb 1958, when a British European Airways plane crashed. On the plane were the Manchester United football team, they were nicknamed the Busby Babes, alongside them were a number of supporters and journalists.
Today marks the 50th anniversary of the Munich air disaster. Manchester United wore a replica 1958 kit.

Manchester City had a one off strip of a sponsor. City’s former goal keeper, Frank Swift died in the crash which killed eight busby babes.
Today Man United played Manchester City, although it was a good game, United came to a 2-1 loss.
It’s the first time City had beaten United in league games at Old Trafford and it’s also the first time City won both league derby day games since 1969/1970 season.
Whats Manchester Derby Day? It’s the name given to match ups between Manchester United and Manchester City.
