I’m employed as a full time web developer so i know what goes on behind the scenes. After visiting Six Revisions ‘20 Websites That Made Me A Better Web Developer‘ post, i can honestly agree with everything they are saying.
 
They mention very important aspects of developing a website including Web Usability. They list design sites, css tips, tutorials and the use of drupal.
 
There is one website that the author missed out - Smashing Magazine!. Smashing Magazine in my opinion is the first place you should visit for any development issues such as CSS, Design and How-To’s.
 
Overall i think Six Revisions list is a good start if you want to get started in the web development area.
