I’ve just completed my one of many updates for talkplaystation.com. I’ve just implemented the ‘top bar‘ into talkplaystation that i made a while ago for this blog. It needs tweaking a bit but it’ll do for now.

Before i went away i had a list of updates that i want to implement into talkplaystation and the list looks something like this:

  • Implement the top bar
  • Make subscribe to RSS more visible rather than e-mail
  • Add in a top games section in the tabber
  • Add in an exclusive ps3 games section in the tabber
  • Write a better more detailed about page
  • Run some contests

I’ll explain what each update is just so you know.

Make subscribe to RSS more visible rather than e-mail

As you can see on talkplaystation, you can clearly see the ’subscribe to email’ button at the top of the page. While email subscriptions are a good thing, people get annoyed with the amount of emails they receive, so they opt to subscribe via RSS which is currently not very clear. So what i might do is get rid of the ‘Recent Posts’ section underneath the tabber and make it into a descriptive ‘please subscribe via rss etc etc etc’.

Add in a top games section in the tabber

You see the tabber with ‘Search’, ‘Archives’ and ‘Categories’ in? Well i plan to put another heading in called ‘Top Games’ or something along the lines and this will list the current top PS3 games.

Add in an exclusive ps3 games section in the tabber

Same as the ‘top games section’. Instead this will be a list of all the current exclusive PS3 games that aren’t available on any other platform.

Write a better more detailed about page

This is something that every blogger should do. I think i was a bit too lazy to do it and just wanted to kick talkplaystation off to a good start by loading it with content. I will revise the about us page soon.

Run some contests

This is a last resort, once i’ve ironed out all the above updates, i will run a few competitions to gain more exposure and subscribers - hopefully.

So there you have it, a more detailed update regarding talkplaystation.
